Summary

The aim of the project is to comprehensively evaluate the cultivation of perennial forage crops (PFC) on plant nutrition and soil health in relation to rapidly changing environmental conditions under conventional and organic farming conditions. The sub-objectives of the solution are: a) the effect of PFC on the nutrition of subsequent crops, b) the effect of PFC on the water balance, carbon and nutrient content of the soil, c) the risks of incorporation/mulching of large amounts of PFC biomass, d) the use of PFC biomass in farms without livestock production, e) the delineation of areas, zoning and further distribution of PFC. The project results will be addressed to the state administration, but also to the agricultural practice.
