Summary
The main goal of the project is to find out and verify for agricultural practice the real benefit of incorporating N-fixing crops and intercrops within the biodiversification of crop sequences for the soil microbiome, given the habitat conditions and taking into account the achievement of other benefits. The sub-goals are 1) to biodiversify the seeding procedure with different approaches to increase the ecosystem-functional richness of the soil microbiome 2) to monitor the course of diversification of key indicators of AMF and rhizobia in wider soil communities of fungi and microorganisms over time 3) to select an appropriate composition of crop mixtures and to evaluate the targeted introduction of supporting organisms and minimization technology using intercropping.
Planned results of the project
Functional sample - seed mixture for mixture 1 - type for colder and more humid areas
Functional sample - seed mixture for mixture 2 - type for warmer and drier areas
Functional sample - seed mixture for mixture 3 - type for fodder use
Verified technology - Diversified seeding procedure guaranteeing a positive impact on the soil microbiome
Summary research report - Summary of the progress achieved in the framework of measures linked to the biodiversification of the soil microbiome
Workshop for introducing new biodiversification measures in crop practices with an ecosystem function on the soil microbiome
Field workshop for farmers - examples of small-plot trials
Expert seminar focused on the results of the project to support the adoption of biodiversity measures in agrosystems
